From London with loveBy Trevor NcubeICWT is in London this week after spending a week in Johannesburg. We have been fortunate to meet so many of you and are overwhelmed by your love and support. Your genuine and unsolicited feedback on the impact the platform is having is our biggest paycheck. This feedback makes the hard work the HStv team puts into each episode worth the while. We have just celebrated our fifth anniversary and are delighted by the progress made this far. We are truly grateful to the support and encouragement. We are in London at the invitation of the Nyaradzo Group. Phillip Mataranyika and the team have been big supporters of ICWT from inception. Philip and the team are avid followers of the show. They clearly see the value our brand offers and we are grateful. We are admirers of the way Philip and the team have deliberately grown and nurtured the Nyaradzo brand. We are proud to be associated with one of the country’s successful brands. Magic happens when two great brands meet! The diaspora is a huge part of ICWT, representing anything upward of 40% of our global audience. The UK and South Africa constitute the biggest segment of the diaspora reach. We are looking forward to sitting down with entrepreneurs and leaders who have made it in this tough and competitive market. As some have said on ICWT, the diaspora is far from being a bed of roses. It is a tough and sometimes hostile environment. We believe in the power of our lived experiences and our experiences of success and failure to inspire others. These stories, told authentically, beyond the sensational and the headlines, have the power to build the nation, one story at a time. The impact of the show on the guests and the viewers proves beyond any shadow of doubt that there is value in good stories. This confirms our strongly held view that the tapestry of our narratives is a beautiful reflection of our collective soul. The Zimbabwe diaspora is an important part of our collective soul and nation-building and we are delighted to play a small part in shining a light on this community. The overwhelming responses we have received include the following WhatsApp message from a Zimbabwean based in South Africa: “Your platform has not only broadened my perspective, but also fuelled my passion for business leadership. I would love to express my gratitude for the work you do and the impact it has on people like me.” Someone else reached out to say: “I follow ICWT series obsessively. Today, I just decided to reach out and say your great work is much appreciated and you are shaping the nation. Unaware to you, people listen and feel the urge to contribute to a better future of our country.” My heart is full and your encouragement is the wind behind our sails. We love you all.
